Teri Lawton earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Michigan and her PhD in experimental psychology from UC Santa Barbara. She has served as a research scientist at CalTech and a faculty member at various educational institutions. Currently, as CEO and Director of Research for Perception Dynamics Institute and the non-profit Early Childhood Parenting Institute, Teri’s work and research emphasize the development and implementation of PATH to Reading technology, a computer-based tool, with specially designed dynamic visual displays to improve reading performance. She investigates the perceptual/cognitive neural mechanisms underlying the improvements produced by this training regimen and trains students and professionals in the schools to understand the neurobiological basis for different perceptual and cognitive tasks. Teri is an associate member of AET.
